Susanna Raj is an independent Cognitive Science and AI Ethics researcher. Her background is in psychology, arts, and human-computer interactions. She is a published researcher at ACM, and NeurIPS/WiML conferences, a prolific writer, and an established artist. She is the founder of AI4Nomads, a public benefit corporation, harnessing the power of AI to eradicate poverty and digital illiteracy around the globe, aligned with United Nations Sustainable Goals for 2030. A vocal advocate of ethical AI and fairness in data collection. In her spare time, she volunteers for many organizations that align with her values of building beneficial solutions for society’s problems. She is currently the volunteer Program Mentor for Brand & Communications and Leadership Council members of DataEthics4All, an organization dedicated to building data ethics, diversity, equity in the tech ecosystem. She is also a volunteer Editor for Women in AI Ethics magazine, a 501(c)(3) fiscally-sponsored organization dedicated to building empowerment, representation, and recognition of women in AI.


What are you most proud of in your work or life?

Creating an identity and a unique path for myself while navigating an atypical life in ambiguous environments.

Painting and writing

The view from my perspective is valid, distinctive, and valuable. So is yours. On a journey to make the world listen, learn, respect, and acknowledge this for you and for me.
