Hi Y’all! My name is Celina Salcido, a current OMS-3 at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to medical school, I received a PhD at the University of Texas at Arlington where I studied the neurobiological underpinnings of pain and behavior. After my graduate tenure, I remained at UTA to continue teaching and research as a postdoctorate fellow until I matriculated into medical school. I hope to one day get back into academia to increase STEM and medicine outreach to URMs. I am a first-generation Latina student, dog lover, and to many, a professional student.
