Hello I’m a tech transfer engineer working in the biotech industry at Amgen in Cambridge MA. I’ve been in biotech for 5 years now and I’ve worked across downstream purification, upstream cell culture, project/deviation management, and engineering roles in that time. I studied chemical engineering in college and I love to play board games, travel, and do wildlife photography.

What are you most proud of in your work or life?
I decided I wanted to work in biotech at Amgen RI in my junior year of high school then pursued it and got my target role at Amgen immediately out of college. Since then I’ve gained experiences in biomanufacturing/engineering spanning downstream, upstream, solution prep, cell therapies, and finally my newest and current role, tech transfer. I did all of this in under 5 years and I am very proud of the work I have accomplished. I’m also proud of the mentoring I have done over the years mentoring dozens of students as well as many newer coworkers. I just generally love teaching, I even volunteer nowadays to teach people in my community how to sail!
What are your passions and hobbies?
Board games, birding, sailing, photography (mostly wildlife but also street and astrophotography), travel (24 countries and 4 continents so far), cooking, camping, hiking, videogames, rock climbing, and many others.
Do you have a personal motto or other words to live by?
Not a very concise one but I always tell people to get involved in the main core of operations of a business or industry early if they can. Something like manufacturing associates at Amgen, because you will learn a process and company fastest the closer you are to the process in these foundational roles. Typically over time as you become more senior you move away from the day to day tasks and operations so it is really important to build that foundation early while you have the opportunities to do so.
Favorite snack food?
