Ryan Lahlou

University of Texas at Arlington, B.S. in Computer Science

Ryan Lahlou is a software engineer and developer advocate passionate about technology and education.

Ryan currently leads a frontend team in his current role at JPMorgan Chase on the Chase Travel team.

While at the University of Texas at Arlington, he founded HackUTA — now one of the largest student-run hackathons in Texas — and launched the ACM chapter, both of which continue to thrive.

Ryan has interned at JPMorgan Chase twice, building tools for trader & investment bank platforms and winning the firm’s global hackathon.

He also travels across North America as an MLH Coach, mentoring hackers and organizers at events at Princeton, Databricks’ conference, UCLA, UW, Northwestern, Georgia Tech, UofT, and more.

In his free time, he plays pickleball, plays piano, stares at grass, and counts to 3 (:P).

What are you most proud of in your work or life?

I’m proud to have traveled to many universities across North America to learn from and teach so many students.

What are your passions and hobbies?

Pickleball, piano/percussion, travel, devrel/CSED, staring at grass, and counting to 3
