When and how did you figure out what you wanted to pursue as a career?

“It may sound cliche, but I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a physician. Early on, I enjoyed helping people in my community and finding ways to improve other people’s lives. Having that goal in the back of my mind drove me do my best in school and obtain my bachelor’s degree in biology. What solidified my decision was working in the emergency department as a scribe during my transition between undergrad and medical school. I saw the need for bilingual female physicians and used that as my motivation.”
