Howard Ekundayo

Director, Software Engineering
Google

Howard University – B.S in Computer Science

As an Engineering Director at Google, I drive engineering, product, and organizational strategy. I lead several international teams focused on innovating Google Search consumer experiences to inspire users to explore, travel, eat, and more. These vertical experiences span markets, user segments, and surfaces. Before that, I built products and services at companies like Netflix, Goldman Sachs, and Google as a Software Engineer, Eng Leader, and executive. I also raised a ~$2M seed round to co-found Onramp, a startup in the Ed-tech space! I identify as a Christian and am the oldest of four siblings. I’ve been fortunate to overcome many challenges throughout my life to be the person I am today, and I am the result of many mentors, sponsors, teachers, and friends investing in me.

What are you most proud of in your work or life?

In 2017 I ran a 2:55:13 marathon. This occurred 4 years after I ran half marathon and told myself I would never be able to run a full. I proved to myself that through faith, guidance, focus, hard work and discipline, we can surpass perceived limits.
