It is my life’s passion to contribute my skills to a world where any human can reach heights they are worthy of. I was born in Texas and raised by a hardworking family where love and tortillas were abundant. With my head in the clouds, I dreamed of a life free of struggle for my loved ones and myself. As a first generation college student, I overcame so many unseen obstacles. My family didn’t always understand or support my higher education desires but I just had to know what was on the other side. So I pushed. While studying for my Bachelors of Science in Mathematics, I received a scholarship that covered tuition, spent a summer doing research at Harvard while being mentored at MIT, and participated in research on my campus. All of these experiences shaped and showed me how much was out there for those who were courageous enough to take the next step. After graduating, I got a job that awakened my passion to use my skills for education equity. I chose to obtain a Masters degree in Statistics & Data Science to be an effective and informed asset in education research. I continue stepping into the unknown as a statistical analyst at an education technology company. As a mentor, I look forward to uplifting, encouraging, and listening at every turn of this journey. It is the greatest honor to help young minds take the next step toward their dreams.
